Drinking green tea increases the rate at which our bodies burn calories. That’s great, especially if you are hoping to reduce your weight. It also means that you can do the same level of activity but burn more calories through your day!
In a study where people were given green tea on a daily basis, and didn’t make changes to what they ate or how they exercised, the average weight loss was 2.64 on the average and 3/4 inches off their waistline! Can you imagine if they exercised and watched what they ate? Well, in another study of 12 weeks, the participants were placed on a diet where they ate three meals a day. Half of the group drank green tea, and the other half did not. Those in the green tea group lost significantly more weight, 24 pounds!!!
Oh and there are many other benefits to drinking green tea…such as helping to prevent cancer, reducing inflammation and helping overall heart health.
